Sneade’s Ace Home Center Donation to Charlotte Hall Veterans Assistance Fund
Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families August 8 Announcements

CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. — The owners and operators of Sneade’s Ace Home Center have donated $8,000 to the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, providing vital support for the residents who have served the nation.

The proceeds came from Sneade’s Ace Home Center’s local “round-up” campaign in May, which ran across all four of its Southern Maryland locations — Charlotte Hall, Owings, Lusby and Leonardtown. Customers rounded up their purchases at checkout, with every cent contributing to the donation.

This is not the first time Sneade’s has stepped up for local veterans. In 2024, the company raised $12,000 through the same round-up initiative for the Charlotte Hall Veterans Assistance Fund.

The funds will benefit the Charlotte Hall Veterans Assistance Fund, which helps cover essential items and services for residents, including dental work, optometry needs, final honors arrangements, personal care items such as toiletries and recreational activities both inside and outside the facility.

Those attending the donation presentation included Keith Streicher, chair of the Maryland Veterans Home Commission; Col. John Lombardi, Charlotte Hall Veterans Home director; Dana Sneade Banyasz and Ben Banyasz of Sneade’s Ace Home Center; and Rodney Jones, deputy director of the Maryland Department of Veterans and Military Families.

Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, located on 126 acres in St. Mary’s County, has been serving veterans since 1985. The home offers assisted living, skilled nursing and memory care programs, ensuring residents receive compassionate and comprehensive care.

This year also marks a major milestone for Sneade’s Ace Home Center as the family-owned business celebrates its 50th anniversary. From its start in 1975 as a small hardware store in North Beach, Sneade’s has grown into four locations across Southern Maryland, known for its customer service, extensive product selection and community involvement. The company’s legacy includes supporting local causes, hosting community events and maintaining a reputation as a trusted neighborhood hardware store.
