SOLOMONS, Md. — The Southern Maryland community has once again stepped up to help children in need, with support reaching both local families and local youth. At Solomons Inn Resort + Marina’s Toys for Tots weekend, neighbors rallied together to donate toys, raise money and back the Calvert Tide 11U baseball team — showing what true community spirit looks like.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who supported our yard sale and car wash — your participation made the day a big success! The energy, community spirit and generosity you brought truly made a difference,” Solomons Inn Resort + Marina shared in a post on Facebook.
For the past 10 years, Solomons Inn has proudly supported Toys for Tots fundraising events, giving neighbors a way to contribute and help local children. That tradition continued with this year’s two-day yard sale, held Saturday, Sept. 6, and Sunday, Sept. 7, which raised $3,303 to support the program. Even after the weekend wrapped up, generosity kept flowing, with more donations and bags of toys still being dropped off by community members.
On Saturday, Sept. 6, from noon to 2 p.m., Solomons Inn hosted the Calvert Tide 11U baseball team car wash, giving the community a fun way to support local youth. The players raised $600 to help cover uniforms, travel and team expenses for their season. With buckets and sponges in hand, the kids worked hard and had fun while neighbors stopped by to cheer them on. Drivers left with clean cars and the satisfaction of knowing they were part of supporting local youth sports.

Don’t worry if you missed it — Solomons Inn will host a Toy Drive on Friday, Nov. 21, 2025, the Friday before Thanksgiving, giving the community another chance to come together and support children in Southern Maryland.
