At 7:50 a.m. April 7, D/Sgt. J. McCauley of the Leonardtown trooper barrack was traveling southbound on Route 235 at Route 245, Hollywood, when he observed a vehicle approaching from the rear at a high rate of speed.
The vehicle passed and had to slow due to another vehicle in front of it. The vehicle then suddenly swerved in front of D/Sgt. McCauley, who had to take evasive action to avoid a collision.
The vehicle continued at a high rate of speed and weaved through heavy traffic. The vehicle was stopped and the driver identified as Randy Shane Weeks, 21, of Lexington Park.
Upon contact with Weeks, cash was observed strewn about the front seat. A pipe, “bowl,” was partially hidden under additional debris on the seat. The pipe was recovered, which contained marijuana residue.
Weeks was charged with Possession of CDS Paraphernalia on a criminal citation and Unsafe Lane Changing on a traffic citation. After signing each citation he was released from the scene.
