WALDORF, Md. — Southern Maryland will host the state’s only Spirit Christmas location this season as the popular seasonal retailer transforms Spirit Halloween’s Waldorf shop at 3009 Waldorf Marketplace into a new holiday pop-up destination. The store is set to open in November and will operate through the holiday season.
Shoppers will be able to explore Peppermint Lane, the store’s signature winter-themed walk-through featuring life-size animatronics, twinkling lights and photo-ready displays inspired by holiday classics such as Frosty the Snowman and The Island of Misfit Toys — all arriving right after the creepy spiders and haunted dolls of Spirit Halloween are packed away for the season.
A Full In-Store Experience
The Waldorf location will feature thousands of holiday items, including:
- Indoor and Outdoor Decorations: LED lights, giant wreaths, garlands, inflatable lawn displays, Insta-trees and themed throw pillows.
- Peppermint Lane and Photo Spots: A holiday village-style walk-through complete with animatronics, Santa’s letter-writing station and whimsical character cutouts.
- Apparel and Gifts: Light-up and themed sweaters, seasonal costumes, stockings, ornaments, tabletop décor, pet holiday gear and stocking stuffers.
Santa Arrives In Waldorf
Select Spirit Christmas stores, including Waldorf, will also offer photo opportunities with Santa, giving families a chance to capture their holiday memories while shopping for décor and gifts.
Waldorf joins a short list of Spirit Christmas locations nationwide, including Manchester and Milford, Conn.; Christiana, Del.; Bloomingdale, Joliet and Naperville, Ill.; Fort Wayne and Merrillville, Ind.; Lexington, Ky.; North Attleborough and Dartmouth, Mass.; Grand Rapids and Novi, Mich.; Salem, N.H.; Cherry Hill, Lawrenceville, Mays Landing, Paramus, Rockaway and Toms River, N.J.; Amherst, Bohemia and Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; Mentor and North Canton, Ohio; and Bethel Park, Erie, Pittsburgh and Whitehall, Pa.

The Waldorf Spirit Christmas store is also hiring seasonal staff ahead of its November opening. Positions include store manager and assistant roles, offering short-term opportunities for those looking to join the holiday team.
