Motorists on the St. Charles Parkway and Rosewick Road, which runs parallel to US-301, will notice the speed limit on the road has changed to 50 mph. The move came one week after the Charles County Commissioners granted the Traffic Safety Committee authorization to change speed limits.
 
The increase to 50 mph runs from St. Charles Parkway near Billingsley Road all the way down to the railroad crossing on Rosewick Road. The speed limit from Rosewick Road at the railroad crossing down to the light on Washington Avenue remains at 45 mph.
 
Traffic Safety Committee Chairwoman Donna Daugherty told the Charles County Commissioners there are plans to have a light placed at the Radio Station Road/Rosewick Road intersection. St. Charles Parkway was extended to run from Demarr Road in White Plains down to Radio Station Road by The St. Charles Companies. The extension was opened on August 18, 2008.  At the time, Rosewick Road was also widened in to a two-lane divided highway.
