Snavely Throws No-Hitter
St. Maryโs American 9 โ 10 All-Stars finished in fourth place in the recent Southern Maryland District 7 Tournament, held at Stethem Park in Waldorf. St. Maryโs ended with a 2 โ 2 record.

second game was a 12 to 8 loss to Northern No. 1. The third game saw St. Maryโs rebound with 4 โ 0 victory over Waldorf National. In the fourth game St. Maryโs was eliminatedย by Northern Calvert # 2, by a score of 10 โ 7.
ย The first game victory was highlighted by the strong pitching of Ben Kelly and Preston Snavely. St. Maryโs won the game in the bottom of the sixth inning when Brady Norris reached base on a bunt single. After walks to Dominic Hare and Chris Reed to load the bases, Scott Stevenson won the game on single to right field, driving in Norris with the winning run.
ย The third game against Waldorf National was a near perfect gem for St. Maryโs. Preston Snavely, 9, pitched a no hitter. He pitched to 20 batters, only two over the limit for a six-inning ballgame. Preston gave up no hits, struck out 15, allowed no walks. The only two batters to reach base were on errors. Not a single ball was hit to the outfield. Preston threw only 78 pitches to complete the six innings. Hit leaders for St. Maryโs were Brady Norris, 3 for 3, and Dominic Hare with a single and a double.
