With Pomp and Circumstance, 185 students received diplomas at the Class of 2011 St. Maryโs Ryken High School graduation ceremony Tuesday at St. Maryโs College of Maryland.
During her Acknowledgement of the Class of 2011, St. Maryโs Ryken President Mary Joy Hurlburt noted that 109 of the graduated received scholarships to college and universities totalling $12.7 million.

Class Speaker Daniel Goodley (senior class vice president) emphasized the change in the world that his fellow graduates will be facing. โChange is certain,โ he said, adding, โGiven the right attitude, change is good.โย He recalled some of the significant events that occurred over their last four years that represented change, including the countryโs first African-American president in Barack Obama and the winning of eight gold medals in the Beijing Olympics by Michael Phelps.
