Rita Marie Reece
Leonardtown, MD – In January 2016, patrol troopers from the Maryland State Police (MSP) Leonardtown Barrack initiated an investigation into a residential burglary at a home in the Leonardtown area of St. Mary’s County, Maryland.
During the course of the investigation, investigators from the MSP Criminal Enforcement Division, Central South Region obtained additional information identifying a residence in the Lexington Park area that contained evidence pertaining to the above burglary. After reviewing the facts with the St. Mary’s County States Attorney’s Office, a search and seizure warrant was applied for and obtained.
On February 5, 2016, members from the MSP-Criminal Enforcement Division, Central South Region, patrol troopers from MSP-Leonardtown Barrack, MSP Special Tactical Assault Team Element (S.T.A.T.E.) and a detective from the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office-Criminal Investigation Division executed a search and seizure warrant at the Lexington Park residence.
A search of the residence revealed evidence pertaining to the burglary, suspected Heroin and a 32 year old female by the name of Rita Marie Reece with no fixed address. She had an open warrant through the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office. Reece was arrested and later released to a deputy with the St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office.
Additional charges are pending a review with Mr. Richard Fritz, States Attorney for St. Mary’s County.
