Two kayaks were reported stolen from a locked rack on Arcade Court in Chesapeake Beach on September 9 to Calvert County Dep. Andrew Woodford.
The following day Dep. Woodford responded to the area of Bay Ave and 3rd Street in North Beach for a report of a disorderly group of subjects. He noticed a kayak fitting the description of one of the stolen ones on the beach. Two subjects advised they had been kayaking in it but it wasn’t theirs. The owner responded and identified the kayak as his. The other kayak was also on the beach and was identified as stolen.
Dep. Woodford arrested the two subjects, later identified as Jonathan Frederico Quevedo, 20 of Chesapeake Beach and Dustin James Jablonski, 18 of Chesapeake Beach and charged them both with theft.
