A joint investigation between the Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Calvert and Charles County Sheriff’s Office continues in attempting to locate the person or persons responsible for taking and setting on fire a 2007 GMC Yukon.
The vehicle owned by Paul H. Harley from St. Leonard was destroyed from the intentionally set fire. A passerby discovered the vehicle parked and on fire along Riverside Road at Md. Point Observatory Road in Charles County. Firefighters from Nanjemoy Volunteer Fire Company responded to the 10:22 p.m. fire and had the fire extinguished within minutes. The fire caused an estimated $44,000.00 damage to the vehicle.
Deputy State Fire Marshals learned the vehicle was reportly taken from in front of Harley’s home in Calvert County earlier in the evening. A motive for the fire is unknown at this time.
