As part of Targetโs many efforts to give back millions of dollars to the community each week, the Waldorf store donated a $250 gift card to the Charles County Sheriffโs Officeโs Auto Theft Unit.
Michael Kujawa, executive team leader of asset protection, Marion Wilson, executive team leader of hardlines, and Lisa Schott, store team leader, presented the gift card to Sheriff Rex Coffey on April 1.
Auto Theft detectives will use the gift card to purchase items from Target but to protect detectivesโ efforts the Sheriffโs Office is not identifying the items. However, the items will assist detectives investigating stolen cars and the thefts of property from inside cars.
โI truly appreciate all Target does for public safety and local law enforcement,โ said Sheriff Coffey. โThey were a major part of National Night Out last year and now they are helping us combat auto theft in our community, too.โ
According to Target, the company gives back more than $3 million a week to its local communities through grants and special programs. Since opening its first store in 1962, Target has partnered with nonprofit organizations, guests and team members to help meet community needs.
