On February 14, St. Mary’s County Deputy E. Croyle responded to the Sleep Inn on Three Notch Road in California,ย  for a report of a disturbance inside of a room.ย 

Upon arrival, Deputy Croyle responded to the room where the reported disturbance was occurring and made contact with Crystal Ann Coontz, 20 of Lexington Park.ย  A warrant check revealed Coontz had an open bench warrant for her arrest for theft in Charles County.ย  Coontz was arrested on the warrant.ย 

Search incident to the arrest revealed two small unsealed plastic baggies containing two different prescription pills.ย  One baggie contained 13 pills, later identified as Hydrocodone 500 mg a Schedule III Narcotic and the other baggie contained 2 Zanex 2 mg pills, a Schedule IV Narcotic.ย  None of the pills were prescribed to Coontz.ย 

Coontz was served with the open warrant and charged additionally with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.ย
