LEXINGTON PARK, Md. – The St. Mary’s Community Development Corp. is set to host their Third Annual Great Mills Road Community Clean Up on June 1, 2024, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

“Join us in showing love to our community by cleaning up Great Mills Road and the surrounding areas,” said the organization.

Clean-up supplies will be provided for volunteers to help. It is recommended that volunteers wear close-toed shoes, bring a hat and sunglasses if the prefer, and bring a backpack, fanny-pack, or a pull cart for easy access to tools and supplies. Sunscreen and bug spray will be provided.

The first 100 volunteers that sign up will receive a free t-shirt! There will also be a celebratory lunch post-clean-up that will include chicken and pork barbecue, potato salad, and beans catered by Uncle D’s Grill. Snacks, water, drinks, and vegetarian accommodations will also be provided. You can also enjoy some fresh, energizing Cold Brew, too, thanks to St. Inie’s!

“It looks like it will be a clear, hot day. Water will be provided, so please stay hydrated! If the weather changes significantly, an announcement will be sent out by Friday, June 2 for rescheduling. However, if we expect light, scattered showers, the event WILL go on and you will receive a free poncho,” says the organization.
