PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A Lexington Park man is being held without bond after he was charged in connection with a late-night burglary and theft at a Prince Frederick business that investigators say resulted in more than $30,000 in losses.
Court records identify the defendant as Bradley Tippett Morris, 30, of Lexington Park. The incident occurred late on Dec. 18, 2025, at Blue Crabs Sports Cards, located at the Fox Run Shopping Center on Solomons Island Road North.
According to the statement of probable cause, deputies responded after a 911 caller reported a man smashing the front window of the store. Surveillance video later reviewed by investigators showed a suspect using a rock to break the front window, entering the store, smashing multiple display cases and removing sports cards and memorabilia, which were placed into a bag before the suspect fled on foot.
Within minutes of the report, a deputy located a man matching the suspect’s description — wearing an orange jumpsuit — approximately two blocks from the store. Authorities reported the man appeared out of breath and had mud on his shoes. He was later identified as Morris.
Investigators located a pickup truck nearby that was connected to Morris. In plain view inside the vehicle, deputies observed collectible sports cards. The vehicle was secured and impounded pending a search warrant, records show.
Store owner James Segar reported extensive damage to the business, including shattered display cases and damage to the front entry. Authorities estimated the combined loss from stolen merchandise and property damage exceeded $30,000.
A records check also revealed Morris was wanted in St. Mary’s County on an unrelated burglary charge, according to court documents.
Morris was charged with second-degree burglary, fourth-degree burglary (theft), fourth-degree burglary (storehouse), theft of $25,000 to under $100,000, and malicious destruction of property valued at $1,000 or more. He remains held without bond.
Court records show a preliminary hearing is scheduled for Jan. 16, 2026, in Calvert County District Court.
