At approximately 7:55 a.m.on Jan. 18, a Charles County Public Schools bus was parked in the parking lot of Arthur Middleton Elementary School at 1109 Copley Avenue in Waldorf with no children on board. A school bus from Childtime Child Care was parked behind the bus and began to drive away but struck the rear of the public schools bus. Neither the drivers nor the six students on the childcare bus were injured. No charges were filed.
Only two days later, at 1:55 p.m. on Jan. 20, a driver of a Charles County Public Schools bus backed into a mailbox in the 9700 block of Docs Place in La Plata. Neither the driver nor the 13 students riding the bus were injured.
