Larry T. Stine and Mark A. Alvey 

Leonardtown, MD— On Feb.4, St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Dep.Brian Fennessey responded to the St.Mary’s County Detention Center for a reported altered drug test. 

Fennessey made contact with Correctional Officer Gogul who stated he removed Mark A. Avery, 24 of Lexington Park and Larry T. Stine, 36 of Avenue from his housing unit for a urinary analysis test. 

Before the test, Gogul, “performed a strip search on both defendants and discovered a toothpaste container filled with urine,” according to charging documents. 

The defendants subsequently performed a separate urinary analysis which tested positive for cocaine. 

Alvey and Stine were charged with altering a drug/alcohol test and remain incarcerated at the St. Mary’s County Detention Center

Both men are awaiting a scheduled court date. Alvey and Stine both face a maximum jail sentence of one year and or a maximum fine of $1,000.
