Detectives from the St. Mary’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations, Narcotics Divisions, arrested Matt York, 35 of Great Mills, for the possession of steroids.

Detectives obtained a search and seizure warrant for York’s home and numerous items were seized. The items included various anabolic steroids, growth hormones (both human and animal) and syringes filled with a steroid substance.

York was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (anabolic steroids).

Additional charges are pending a toxicology review, a review by the State’s Attorney and presentation to the Grand Jury of St. Mary’s County.

St. Mary’s Bureau of Criminal Investigations announced Monday evening that York was detained in the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a District Court Commissioners bond hearing.

A family member told The Bay Net York is not being held and will likely face only misdemeanor charges.
