Update from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division on 10/02/14 at 9:42 a.m.:

Maryland State Police-Criminal Enforcement Division, Central South Region Tfc Reuschling identified William Chinedu Ozah, 21 of Leonardtown on September 30 as the suspect that committed the armed robbery on September 29th at the AMC Lowes Theatre, located in Lexington Park. Investigation revealed suspect Ozah was a prior employee of AMC Lowes Theatre.  An arrest warrant was obtained for Ozah charging him with: Armed Robbery, First and Second degree Assault, Theft over $1,000.00 and Felon using a handgun in violation of a crime.

In collaboration with the Maryland State Appregension Team (MSAT) , investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, Central South Region and Patrol Troopers from the Maryland State Police Loneardtown on October 2nd at 3:00 a.m. located Ozah at a residence in the Leonardtown area. Ozah was taken into custody without incident.  He was transported to the Leonardtown Barrack for processing and released to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center pending a hearing with the District Court Commission.  

The investigation was conducted in collaboration with the St. Mary’s County States Attorney’s Office.

Updated Press Release from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforment Division on 9/30/14 at 11:16 a.m.:

On September 29, 2014 at 10:09 p.m., Troopers from the Leonardtown Barrack responded to the AMC Lowes Theatres in Lexington Park for a reported robbery.

When Troopers arrived on the scene, they made contact with the manager of AMC Lowes Theatre.  Investigation revealed the manager was walking to her vehicle when she was approached by an African American male with dreadlocks and a ski mask.

The suspect brandished a handgun and ordered her back into the movie theater.  The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of currency and fled from the scene.

Investigators from Criminal Enforcement Division-Central South Region responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.

Units from the Maryland State Police Leonardtown Barrack and St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to an armed robbery on Monday, September 29th around 10 p.m. at the Lexington Park Movie Theatre. 

Reportedly the suspect was an african american male wearing a ski mask.

According to sources the suspect then demanded to be given money from the safe and immediately fled on foot.

An ongoing investigation into this incident is being conducted.
