On Friday, January 15 at 4 p.m., the Charles County Sheriffโs Office was made aware that a 15-year-old student at Thomas Stone High School located at 3785 Leonardtown Road in Waldorf, had a list containing the names of twelve students and a teacher whom he wanted to harm. The information was reported to the Charles County Sheriffโs Office, School Resource Unit, who, along with school administrative staff, took swift, immediate action.
The student – who was not in possession of any weapons – was located, evidence was secured and contact was made with the teenโs parents. He was taken into custody without incident and admitted to a hospital where he is currently under a doctorโs care. The students and teacher whose names appeared on the list were immediately notified after the list was discovered.
The Charles County Sheriff’s Office and Charles County Public Schools are committed to providing a safe environment at all schools. Threats are taken seriously and are investigated to the fullest extent. At this point, there is no evidence suggesting anyone else was involved and it appears the student was acting alone.
