
DUNKIRK, MD – On Friday, June 12 at approximately 5:10 p.m., a call was dispatched for an auto accident on Route 4 and Cedarwood Lane in Dunkirk.
Once units arrived on scene found they found two vehicles involved with several individuals to be evaluated for treatment.
One person was flown by Maryland State Police helicopter to a Washington, DC area hospital and at least one other motorist was transported to Calvert Memorial Hospital.
The northbound portion of Route 4 had the right lane open and the southbound side had both lanes open while fire department attended the injuries. The southbound lane had to be closed while the helicopter was landing and taking off.
The names of the injured have not been released and local police are continuing their investigation.
