Vera’s White Sands in Lusby will host its third Hawaiian Tropic International Model Search on Sunday, July 20, at 2 p.m. The Beach Club is still looking for models to enter the contest. Winning models will earn a place in the Maryland State Finals.

The second contest was held June 21. Meagan, Amber and Amber Lynn took the first, second and third place titles, winning the opportunity to participate in the national Hawaiian Tropic contest later in the year. Contestants at the national level vie for modeling contracts and the chance to tour the country promoting Hawaiian Tropic tanning and skin care products.
The bar and restaurant changed hands in 2006. Vera Freeman, who had owned and operated the establishment for 50 years, sold to current owner Lisa De Ricco, who is also the operational manager of the bar and restaurant.
Vera’s will host its fourth and last Hawaiian Tropic contest on Sunday, Aug. 24, at 2 p.m.
