On Saturday Veraโs burst back to life as hundreds weathered intermittent downpours to pack the club and its decks for the grand reopening. Filling the new docks of the marina were local sailors, revelers, and the Chesapeake Bay Power Boat Association.
From 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. the eventful day included a Leukemia Poker Run and fundraiser, and live music by Deanna Dove and Johnny Seaton who performed Rockability as Elvis in the afternoon.
Vera herself enjoyed the opening bedecked in an embroidered gown, with martini in hand, and ate dinner from the new menu while the crowd milled around her.
