More than 50 veterans from Walter Reed Hospital took a charter boat trip from North Beach on Saturday.
Gerald and Fred Donovan of Rod ‘n’ Reel Restaurant in Chesapeake Beach provided the charter boats, and residents of Windward Keys waved flags to welcome the veterans to their day of yachting. Firefighters from local volunteer fire departments were on hand to help move the day along.
Operation Fishing Trip is an annual event organized to show the men and women in the American military that the price they have paid for our freedom is greatly appreciated.
