Lexington Park, MD — Fire and rescue units were dispatched to Poplar Ridge Road in Lexington Park on Saturday, September 6th at about 12:45 a.m. for a single vehicle accident involving a pole.
Upon arrival EMS and Firefighters discovered a Pontiac Grand Am in the yard of a residence.
According to officials the driver of the Pontiac was traveling at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control of his vehicle.
As a result the driver reportedly drove into a utility pole, snapping it in three places, before spinning completely out of control and coming to rest in the residents yard.
The driver was flown to a local trauma center.
