
WALDORF, Md. – The Office of the State Fire Marshal is currently investigating a late night apartment fire in Waldorf that left one resident injured and caused an estimated $50,000 in property damage.
The incident occurred at 10:57 p.m. on May 22, 2024, at a multi-story apartment building located at 3002 Gallery Place. 25 Firefighters from the Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department responded and controlled the blaze within 10 minutes.
The injured occupant was evaluated by EMS on the scene and transported to a local hospital for care.
The building was equipped with both smoke alarms and a sprinkler system, which activated during the fire. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
