LA PLATA, Md. — A 30-year-old Waldorf man has been indicted by a Charles County grand jury following a months-long investigation into a series of brazen, high-value thefts from retail stores across Charles and Calvert counties, with total losses exceeding $18,000. A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of Geremy Malik Jackson, who is now wanted on multiple felony theft charges.

The indictment, filed on July 25, 2025, consolidates several cases from a crime spree that allegedly began in February 2025. According to charging documents, Jackson is accused of repeatedly targeting the Home Depot and Lowe’s stores in Waldorf. In a series of incidents in February and March, he allegedly walked out of the stores with shopping carts filled with thousands of dollars in high-value power tools, simply ignoring employees and bypassing all points of sale. In one instance on March 24, he allegedly used an in-store ladder to grab power nailers from a high shelf, placed them in a trash bag he brought and left with merchandise valued at over $2,600.

The most recent and highest-value theft occurred on July 13, 2025, at a Verizon store in Prince Frederick. Charging documents from Calvert County state that a masked man entered the store and used a tool to cut numerous smartphones and headphones from their security displays before fleeing on foot. The total value of the electronics stolen in that single incident was estimated at over $9,500.

Investigators from both the Charles and Calvert County sheriff’s offices used store surveillance footage, anonymous tips and information from the Southern Maryland Intelligence Center to link the various thefts. They were able to positively identify Jackson by comparing the surveillance images to his MVA and prior booking photos.

The Charles County indictment charges Jackson with two felony counts of theft scheme: $1,500 to under $25,000. He faces a separate felony charge in Calvert County for theft: $1,500 to under $25,000. Under Maryland law, each felony theft charge carries a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.

A bench warrant for Jackson’s arrest on the Charles County indictment was issued on July 25, 2025, by Judge William R. Greer, Jr., with the condition that he be held without bond. In the separate Calvert County case for the Verizon store theft, a hearing is scheduled for September 8, 2025.
