Leonardtown, MD – November 25, 2019 – Defendant Joseph Matthew Lockard, 22 of Waldorf was sentenced to an active sentence of eight years in prison, the top of the sentencing guidelines for his involvement in a felony assault involving a firearm.
State’s Attorney Richard Fritz would like to thank Senior Assistant State’s Attorney Jaymi Sterling and St. Mary’s County Sheriff Detective Austin Schultz for the successful investigation and prosecution of this case.
The Defendant will have an additional seven years of backup time while being placed on five years of supervised probation with the department of parole and probation after serving out his active jail term.
05/14/19: Joseph Matthew Lockard, 21, of Waldorf, was arrested on an outstanding warrant for nine counts of Assault 1st Degree, nine counts of Assault 2nd Degree, ten counts of Reckless Endangerment, Handgun on Person, Loaded Handgun on Person, and Firearm Use/Felony-Violent Crime by Cpl. Flerlage# 241.
