Calvert County resident and head athletic trainer for the Washington Capitals, Greg Smith, has opened Pivot Physical Therapy in Prince Frederick, Maryland. The new clinic joins 37 locations in Maryland and a network of more than 60 Pivot Physical Therapy clinics throughout the East Coast.
Greg Smith has lived in the community for 14 years and is an owner and the chief strategy officer of Pivot Physical Therapy, a leading provider of physical therapy, aquatic therapy, and sports medicine services. Pivot Physical Therapy employs more than 500 physical therapists, certified athletic trainers, and support staff who specialize in treating athletic injuries, general orthopedics, post-operative care, total joint rehab, spine care, hand therapy, workplace injury prevention and arthritis and pain management. They also provide wellness consultation and fitness training.
“Fourteen years ago I opened our first clinic with the goal of providing high-quality and timely care to athletes and non-athletes of all levels,” said Smith. “Opening our second location in Calvert County provides our neighbors and friends with greater access to world-class physical therapy care. We look forward to expanding within the County so that more patients can return to their healthy and active lifestyles as quickly as possible.”
In addition to its physical therapy clinics, Pivot Physical Therapy provides athletic training and sports medicine services to more than 40 scholastic and collegiate athletic departments throughout the East Coast. Services include year-round, game day coverage; comprehensive concussion management programs; and injury screens. The certified athletic trainers also teach courses to high school coaches on the care and prevention of athletic injuries.
The new Pivot Physical Therapy clinic is located at 220 North Solomons Island Road in Prince Frederick, Maryland. The phone number is 410-885-4710.
