On Nov. 15, Dfc. J. Kirkner responded to a residence on Governors Mill Court in Great Mills,ย to check the welfare of Montrece Dionshanea Mitchell, 23 of Leonardtown.

Dfc. Kirkner responded in a marked police vehicle and was in uniform, clearly identifying him as a law enforcement officer.ย  Mitchell was on the porch of the residence.ย  The resident asked Mitchell to leave the property and Mitchell initially complied but a short time later returned to the residence.ย 

Dfc. Kirkner again observed Mitchell on the property and as he approached Mitchell attempted to flee on foot.ย  After a brief foot chase, Dfc. Kirkner was able to catch Mitchell, advise her she was under arrest and placed her in handcuffs.ย  Once handcuffed, Mitchell began to flail and kick at Dfc. Kirkner, refusing to be placed in the patrol vehicle.ย  Mitchellโ€™s legs had to be secured to keep her from kicking out the windshield of Dfc. Kirkner patrol vehicle and Dfc. Kirkner.ย 

Mitchell was charged with trespassing and resisting arrest.ย
