
Wanita Deavon Knott
Lexington Park, MD— On March.12, St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy J. Lacey responded to Far Cry Road in Lexington Park, for the report of an assault.
The victim alleged the suspect, Wanita Deavon Knott, 36 of Lexington Park, cut the victim on the back with a kitchen knife. According to charging documents, “the victim and Knott got into an argument over their phone.”ย
The kitchen knife that Knott had was described by the victim as, “silver with a black handle,” according to charging documents. Lackey observed three minor cuts on the back of the victim’s lower neck.ย
The cuts, “did not appear to be deep. However, they had fresh blood coming from them. The victim advised he did not need medical attention,” according to charging documents.ย
Lacey made contact with Knott, who advised, “the victim pulled her hair and struck her in the arm and back with his fist. Lacey did not observe any evidence of injury on Knott,” according to charging documents.ย
Knott was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Maryโs County Detention Center where she was charged with second-degree assault.
At this time, Knott does not have a scheduled court date. However, Knott faces a maximum jail sentence of ten years and/or a maximum fine of $2,500.ย
