Leonardtown,MD— On Feb.22, at the St.Mary’s County Circuit Court Judge.Karen Abrams sentenced Brittany M. Falcone, 25, of Waldorf to 18 months all suspended down to two years of supervised probation for theft of $1,000 to $10,000.
Eric P.Gracia, Jr., who was Falcone attorney stated, “Brittany was hanging out with the wrong people, she was dating a bad individual. She is not the same person that she was when all this was going on. Brittany’s family is here in support of her, and she has a new boyfriend that is a United States Marine.”
According to charging documents that were filed on Oct.9, 2014, “She (victim) the defendant, an old friend, had recently come by and asked to stay the night. The victim advised her friend does not have a permanent place to stay and has been staying with friends. She (victim) advised she (victim) told her friend she couldn’t because they were going out of town.”
According to charging documents, “A RAPID Pawn check was conducted and it was discovered the defendant had pawned a 55 in LG TV and a Play Station 4.”
Theodore Weiner, who is the Deputy State’s Attorney for St. Mary’s County, stated when asked what the state would like to do replied, “I will leave sentencing to your honor.”
Falcone was given one last chance to speak to Abrams before the sentencing was handed down said, “I know what I did was wrong, I was in the wrong state of mind. I want to say sorry, and it won’t happen again. I had issues with both substances abuse and bad decision-making.”
Abrams said before making her decision on the sentencing stated, “I wish you the best of luck. You need to make good choices so you can have a good future.”
In addition to the two years of supervised probation, Falcone will have to go through a substance abuse treatment. The restitution resulting from the stolen items has been paid to the victim.
