Mechanicsville, MD – On Jan.14 St.Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Matthew Pleisse responded to the 28000 block of Mechanicsville Road, for the report of a burglary.
The suspect, April Marie Quade, 18 of Mechanicsville, entered a parked motor vehicle at Immaculate Conception Church in Mechanicsville and stole property.
According to court documents, ” A defendant was standing near a fence in the area of her (witness) and the parking area of The Immaculate Conception Church on Old Village Road in Mechanicsville. He fled the area and walked down the Three Notch Trail towards Mechanicsville Road.”
“The vehicle was unlocked, and the keys were in the vehicle. Stolen from the vehicle was a black LG Smartphone with a black case and a black 10-inch tablet. Also missing from the vehicle were a green jacket and a gray jacket,” according to court documents.
The property was returned to the victim, and Quade was arrested. She was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with rogue and vagabond and theft $1,000 – $10,000.
Quade does not have a scheduled court date at this time. Quade faces a maximum jail sentence of 13 years and or a maximum fine of $10,000.
