Families are invited to food and music from around the world at the annual St. Maryโs College of Maryland World Carnival noon to 5 p.m. Saturday, April 16. The free activities will take place on the collegeโs admissions field on Route 5.
Events kick off with the annual reading of Dr. Seussโ The Sneetches at noon, this time by new college President Joe Urgo. Many of the music groups are new to the carnival, now in its 18th year, which also includes photo booths, an inflatable obstacle course, a caricaturist, and a wide variety of food and craft vendors. Special events include a Chinese Lion Dance at 1 p.m., the Ewabo Caribbean Trio at 3:30 p.m., and a Quidditch game from 2-4 p.m.
