PRINCE FREDERICK, Md. — A 13-year-old boy was flown to Children’s National Hospital Sunday afternoon after being seriously injured in a crash involving an electric dirt bike in Prince Frederick.

Emergency crews were dispatched around 1:15 p.m. on Aug. 30, 2026, to the Yardley Hills area for a reported electric dirt bike crash.

Initial reports indicated the boy fell from the bike, struck his head and was unconscious for a period of time. He later regained consciousness while emergency crews were responding.

EMS evaluated and treated the boy at the scene before requesting a medevac due to his injuries.

Firefighters established a landing zone at the Calvert County Fairgrounds for Maryland State Police Aviation Command Trooper 7.

The patient was transferred to Trooper 7 and flown to Children’s National Hospital for further treatment.
