PARK HALL, Md. — The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after a 55-year-old woman was fatally shot in Park Hall Saturday morning.
Emergency crews were dispatched around 8:23 a.m. on Aug. 29, 2026, to a residence on Francine Court near Gilliam Drive for a reported shooting.
Initial reports indicated the woman had suffered a gunshot wound and that CPR instructions were being given before first responders arrived.
The woman was later pronounced dead.
The St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division is conducting a death investigation. As of Saturday morning, investigators had not made a formal determination regarding the circumstances surrounding the death.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional information is expected to be released as it becomes available.
