At 10:30 p.m. June 3, Maryland Deputy State Fire Marshal John Tennyson responded to the Cheltenham Youth Facility for an investigation.
Tennyson reports that a 17-year-old resident intentionally damaged a sprinkler head within the facility which caused the system to activate and flow water.
The juvenile was charged with malicious destruction of property under $500 and released back to the facility.
