
MECHANICSVILLE, Md. – In an exhilarating display of young talent, the 2023-24 Middle School Select Basketball Championship games concluded on Sunday to a packed gymnasium of enthusiastic spectators.
The Lady Jaguars emerged victorious, dominating the court with a remarkable 44-16 win against the Lady Harriers. Their powerful performance showcased their exceptional skill and sportsmanship, setting a high bar for future competitions.

Not to be outdone, the Pirates Boys team also celebrated a triumphant win. In a heated match-up against the Panthers, the Pirates Boys secured their season title with a 46-35 victory, marking the perfect end to a highly successful and competitive season.
St. Mary’s County Recreation & Parks expressed gratitude for the successful conclusion of the latest season. They stated, “We would like to thank all the players, cheerleaders, coaches, parents, and community support for making it a great season and even more exciting championship Sunday!” They extended a special thanks to Chopticon High School for hosting part of the season and both playoff weekends.
