The St. Maryโs County Commission for People with Disabilities is marking the 20th anniversary of the American with Disabilities Act by hosting a โRe-Commitmentโ ceremony on Wednesday, July 28 at the Greenwell State Park from noon to 2 p.m.
The Board of County Commissioners for St. Maryโs County will deliver a proclamation at the event and citizens with disabilities will testify on living with a disability. Speakers will focus their stories in the areas of Employment, Recreation, Transportation and Housing.

Greenwell State Park in Hollywood offers nearly 600 acres, 10 miles of trails and two miles of waterfront along the Patuxent River and provides an accessible 50 ft. pier. Wheelchair accessible facilities include the Quarter Creek Pavilion, Rosedale Manor and the Knott Lodge.

The Commission for People with Disabilities meets monthly to provide the St. Maryโs County Board of County Commissioners with advice and assistance in the content and administration of compliance measures with regard to the American with Disabilities Act. The Commission also conducts an annual Awards program and has produced a Disability Etiquette Book.
