DUNKIRK, Md. — A Huntingtown woman is facing multiple felony charges after authorities say she stole and distributed large quantities of prescription drugs from a Calvert County pharmacy over a two-year period.

Amanda Louise Phillips, 27, of Huntingtown, was arrested following an investigation into missing medications from a CVS Pharmacy in Dunkirk.

According to the statement of charges, the case stems from incidents between January 1, 2024, and February 20, 2026, at the CVS located on Ward Road in Dunkirk. Investigators allege Phillips stole and possessed large quantities of controlled prescription medications, including Clonazepam, Alprazolam, and Xanax, with intent to distribute.

The report states that more than 1,200 Clonazepam pills, approximately 890 Alprazolam pills, and over 300 Xanax pills were taken during the course of the scheme, with a total estimated value exceeding $1,100.

According to the report, Phillips later admitted to stealing approximately 1,500 pills from the pharmacy over time and told investigators she provided some of the drugs to another individual while also keeping some for personal use.

Authorities reported that pharmacy staff conducted an internal audit, which revealed additional missing inventory, bringing the total value of stolen medications to more than $1,200.

Investigators also reviewed surveillance footage and documented multiple instances in which Phillips allegedly removed pills while working, contributing to the ongoing theft scheme.

Phillips is charged with theft scheme involving property valued between $100 and $1,500, multiple counts of possession with intent to distribute controlled dangerous substances, distribution of controlled substances, and possession of controlled substances.

She was released on an unsecured personal bond of $10,000 after her arrest.

Under Maryland law, possession with intent to distribute and distribution of controlled dangerous substances each carry maximum penalties of up to 20 years in prison, while theft scheme charges can carry additional jail time and fines.
