
GLEN BURNIE, Md. — A 38-year-old Glen Burnie man is facing multiple attempted murder charges after three people were stabbed during a disturbance inside a residence over the weekend.
Ryan David Matthews was identified by the Anne Arundel County Police Department in an Aug. 18 update following the incident in the 400 block of Morningside Drive.
Officers were called to the residence at approximately 10:25 p.m. Aug. 16, 2026, for a reported physical disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers encountered Matthews inside the home displaying erratic behavior and located three victims suffering from stab wounds.
Officers attempted to de-escalate the situation before ultimately deploying Tasers and taking Matthews into custody.
All three victims were transported to an area hospital and were listed in stable condition.
Matthews was charged with three counts of attempted first-degree murder, three counts of attempted second-degree murder and three counts of first-degree assault.
He also faces five counts of second-degree assault, three counts of reckless endangerment and several dangerous weapon charges.
Court records show Matthews was ordered held without bond following his arrest.
A bail review was scheduled for Aug. 18 in Glen Burnie District Court.
A preliminary hearing is set for Sept. 9 in Annapolis District Court.
