Lexington Park, MD — We are receiving report of a recent staircase collapse that has left 30 residents displaced.
At approximately 4:30 PM on April 19, units were dispatched to the Hilton run subdivision for reports of decking and a staircase which had fallen. Upon arrival, crews discovered a multi level unit with a staircase no longer serving it’s purpose.
Building 6 near the back of the subdivision now with no functioning staircase, has displaced 30 of its residents for what is estimated to be weeks. The Saint Marys County building engineer has been notified to fix the problem.
Our records indicate that nobody was injured as a result of the collapse.
