At 1:30 p.m. Thursday, a 5-year-old boy was struck by a vehicle on Loveville Road, near the intersection with Independence Drive in Oakville.
The child was reportedly struck by the mirror of a passing vehicle and sustained facial injuries and hip injuries.
Maryland State Police helicopter Trooper 7 landed in the intersection and took the child to Children’s National Medical Center in D.C.
