HUGHESVILLE, Md.– Fire and rescue personnel responded to a house fire on the 6900 Block of Bucktown Court on June 2, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m. Upon arrival, crews found a two-story home with fire visible through the roof extending into the residence.

Before entering, crews managed to sweep the exterior and extinguish the fire. However, during the operation, a portion of the house’s roof collapsed, forcing crews to adjust their attack strategies.

Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control within 30 minutes and remained on scene conducting extensive overhaul. The operation lasted approximately three hours. No injuries have been reported.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating the incident.
