
CHARLOTTE HALL, Md. – An early morning fire on June 19, 2025, caused an estimated $250,000 in damages after a 40-foot RV caught fire and spread to nearby trees and a residence in Charlotte Hall.
The blaze was first reported around 3:52 a.m. in the 14400 block of Scalloway Place. Callers told dispatchers the RV was engulfed in flames and threatening a nearby home. Responding units confirmed the camper was fully involved with minor extension to the house about 20 feet away.
Dozens of fire and rescue units from multiple stations responded to the scene, with primary water supply operations established on Oaks Road. Crews quickly worked to contain the fire and prevent further damage to the home. Two hose lines were placed in service to knock down the flames.
All occupants of the house were safely accounted for, and no injuries were reported.
Command officially terminated the incident shortly after 5:15 a.m., noting no fire marshal response was necessary.
