
LA PLATA, Md. — The stage lights are set to rise this month across Charles County as local students bring a mix of mystery, fantasy, and comedy to life for the 2025 Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) fall high school theater season.
The lineup begins Thursday, Oct. 23, when La Plata High School opens Murder on the Orient Express, a stage adaptation of Agatha Christie’s famous whodunit. From there, audiences can enjoy a series of productions through Nov. 23, featuring original works, fairy-tale adventures, and classic favorites.
Each high school will present its own fall play, giving students opportunities to perform, direct, and manage technical crews in front of live audiences.
The 2025 fall theater season showcases the creativity, talent and hard work of Charles County Public Schools students, teachers and staff. From classic mysteries to magical adventures, these productions offer something for every theatergoer to enjoy.
Fall 2025 CCPS High School Productions
La Plata High School – Murder on the Orient Express
Oct. 23, 24 and 25 (6:30 p.m.) – A thrilling mystery unfolds aboard a train trapped in the snow, where every passenger harbors a secret.
Lackey High School – Fairycakes
Oct. 30 (6:30 p.m.) and Nov. 1 (2 p.m.) – A whimsical story blending Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream with fairy-tale magic.
McDonough High School – Peter Pan and Wendy
Nov. 14 and 15 (7 p.m.); Nov. 16 (2 p.m.) – Journey to Neverland in this reimagined take on J.M. Barrie’s beloved tale.
Thomas Stone High School – The Con by Tracy Wells
Nov. 20, 21 and 22 (6:30 p.m.) – A suspenseful story full of deception, intrigue and clever twists.
North Point High School – Peter and the Starcatcher
Nov. 20, 21 and 22 (7 p.m.) – The imaginative prequel to Peter Pan reveals how an orphan boy became the legendary hero.
Westlake High School – The Bugs
Nov. 20, 21 and 22 (7 p.m.) – A quirky comedy exploring teamwork and transformation through the lens of the insect world.
St. Charles High School – Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (High School Edition)
Nov. 21 and 22 (7 p.m.); Nov. 23 (2 p.m.) – Return to Hogwarts with the next generation of wizards in this spellbinding two-part adaptation.
