SOLOMONS, Md. — Fans of classic rock will have the opportunity to relive the music of two legendary bands when Almost Queen and Separate Ways The Band take the stage at the Motto Mortgage Preferred and RE/MAX One Waterside Pavilion at the Calvert Marine Museum on Saturday, June 13.

The concert, scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., will feature performances by Almost Queen: A Tribute to Queen and Separate Ways The Band, a tribute act dedicated to the music of Journey. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. General admission tickets are $40, and lawn chairs are permitted for this event.

The concert will be held at the Calvert Marine Museum, located at 14200 Solomons Island Road South in Solomons. Tickets are available online through Etix.

According to organizers, Almost Queen recreates the music and stage presence of Queen through four-part harmonies, period costumes and performances of fan favorites including “Bohemian Rhapsody,” “We Will Rock You,” “We Are the Champions” and “Somebody to Love.”

From the band’s website, Almost Queen states: “They don’t just pay tribute to the legendary band, Almost Queen transports you back in time to experience the magic and essence of Queen themselves.” The group also describes itself as “guaranteed to blow your mind” through “iconic four-part harmonies and expertly executed musical interludes.”

The tribute act features Joseph Russo on lead vocals and piano, Steve Leonard on lead guitar, Randy Gregg on bass and John Cappadona on drums. The band has performed at venues including the Stone Pony Summer Stage in Asbury Park, New Jersey; the Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York; and Rochester’s annual Party in the Park event.

Joining Almost Queen will be Separate Ways The Band, which performs music from Journey’s Steve Perry era. According to the band’s website, Separate Ways seeks to recreate “the authentic Journey concert Experience” through performances of hits such as “Don’t Stop Believin’” and “Faithfully.”

The band describes itself as “The Ultimate Journey Tribute Band” and states that it is “the closest you’ll get to seeing the early-mid 80’s lineup of Journey live.” The group says it meticulously duplicates “all of the subtle nuances, inflections, harmonies, and visual gratifications of seeing the original Journey in concert.”

Separate Ways features Danny Gagliano, Michael Corsaro, Mick Loro, Paul Michael and Allen Brunelle. The band has spent more than a decade performing Journey’s catalog throughout the East Coast and beyond.
