WALDORF, Md. – On May 29, detectives assigned to the Narcotics Enforcement Section obtained search warrants for the residence of Tyrand Dupres Butler and for his vehicle, a 2019 Maserati Levante.
The warrants were the result of an investigation into Butler’s suspected drug distribution activities. Detectives took Butler into custody as he was walking away from his vehicle at a Waldorf shopping center.
Following the arrest, detectives responded to Butler’s residence in the 12000 block of Bar Oak Drive in Waldorf and served the search warrant where they recovered nearly $25,000 worth of cocaine, drug packaging equipment, and a stolen Glock 9mm handgun. Butler is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior felony conviction.
He was transported to the Charles County Detention Center where he was charged with possession with intent to distribute narcotics and weapon violations. On June 1, the court ordered Butler to be released from the Charles County Detention Center as long as he meets the criteria for electronic monitoring.
