CHESAPEAKE BEACH, Md. — The Southern Maryland Art Convention (Smartcon) is back for 2026 and is looking for all kinds of vendors to make the event memorable.

Smartcon, in connection with the Arts Council of Calvert County, is a one-day celebration of creativity, innovation and community. This unique event brings together art enthusiasts, technology aficionados and local residents in Calvert County. The event will feature STEM/robotics presentations, as well as outreach tables and vendor tables.

Smartcon is excited to host vendors who are interested in selling art, literature, film and novelty/nostalgic merchandise.

Here are some guidelines on each of those categories:

  • Art: Digital or traditional art is welcome
  • Literature: Comics, sci-fi, adventure, horror
  • Film: Must have physical copies or related merchandise

The convention will take place on Saturday, April 18, at the Rod ‘N’ Reel Resort Ballroom at 4160 Mears Ave., Chesapeake Beach. Doors open at 11 a.m. and the event ends at 6 p.m.

Interested vendors can fill out the online form to apply for a spot. Once you fill out the form, you’ll receive an email with pricing, space specifications and all other information you need to officially sign up.

If you’re a STEM organization interested in taking your participation a little further, you can sign up to be an exhibitor, where you’ll provide demonstrations and offer hands-on learning opportunities to participants.
