LEXINGTON PARK, Md. — A Great Mills man is facing drug charges after deputies found Suboxone strips during a traffic stop in St. Mary’s County, according to court records.
Garry Wayne Morris, 36, of Great Mills, was arrested April 22, 2026, following a traffic stop along Three Notch Road in Lexington Park.
According to the statement of probable cause, a deputy observed a white Volkswagen traveling northbound and recognized Morris as a passenger in the vehicle who was known to have outstanding warrants.
Authorities conducted a traffic stop in the area of Three Notch Road and Buck Hewitt Road and took Morris into custody on the outstanding warrants.
During a search incident to arrest, deputies located multiple buprenorphine sublingual strips, commonly known as Suboxone, inside Morris’ wallet. Investigators reported the medication was not in a proper prescription container and Morris did not have a valid prescription on him.
Buprenorphine is classified as a Schedule III controlled dangerous substance.
Morris is charged with two counts of possession of a controlled dangerous substance.
He was released on a $1,000 unsecured personal bond following his arrest.
Under Maryland law, possession of a controlled dangerous substance carries a maximum penalty of up to one year in jail and a fine of up to $5,000.
A hearing is set for June 8, 2026, in St. Mary’s District Court.
