LA PLATA, Md. — One person was taken to a trauma center overnight after a vehicle crashed into a tree in La Plata.
The crash was reported around 11:52 p.m. on May 19, 2026, near Hawthorne Road and Ripley Road.
Emergency crews were initially told a person was trapped inside the vehicle. Crews later reported the patient had self-extricated.
Advanced life support was requested at the scene. One patient was transported by ambulance to UM Capital Region Medical Center for treatment.
The incident remains under investigation.
